It couldn't please me more...
I'll apologize later for not writing more.....by writing more..
I spent most of this week in Anaheim for a training symposium. Myself and all of the other trainers were recognized for our efforts over the last year with a certificate, a gag gift, a real gift (wireless infrared travel mouse... ) and a testimonial from our managers. The testimonial part was touching for many. For me it was the first time I've heard words of praise from my boss in the 3 years I've been doing this job.
This is what he wrote:
A trainers job can be defined by the way they identify with their class, the techniques they use to make sure that the class material is being absorbed and that the class continues to flow even though the systems sometimes don't work as planned.
Len has that knack of thinking fast on his feet coming up with an explanation that makes sense to all of us as to why some function does not work. "Hummm...yeah...I think they are looking in to that one."...and the class rolls on.
The other challenge of a trainer is to keep the classes attention....particularly after lunch. Len, with all of his experience, has mastered a technique to keep everyone on their toes. A quote from one of his trainees sums up his technique: "Just when you're about to fall asleep in...training, Ulibarri hits you with some type of toy. He helps keep the dry material interesting."
Len, you do a good job training (even when it comes to those stubborn recruiters that have to take the...certification test 5 times) I know it's not the trainer.
On behalf of the entire region, I would like to say thank you and that we appreciate the assistance you provide. We are all glad to see that you are being recognized by the corporate training team for all your hard work and enthusiasm.
Thanks Len!
I'm pretty sure they made him write that, but it was nice to hear nonetheless.
It was a pretty fun trip....this time I got drunk a whole lot cheaper thanks to a co-worker who pilfered several extra drink tickets at the company dinner...
My flight was 3 hours delayed and I didn't get home until around 11:00, but it was still a good trip overall.
Since I wrote last, a lot has happened......the biggest thing being that we bought that condo I mentioned a few posts ago. I'll have to write a whole post just on the trials and tribulations with moving in....
Well it's nice to see that at least I'm still on a few people's SIR lists. Thanks for keeping me there. You, and others, are all still on mine and I read them almost daily.
That's it for now. TTYL!
Love Ya!
MUAH!!
